Studio recordings Overhead MS- (together with the M 160) or Blumlein Stereofonie
beyerdynamic is one of the few microphone manufacturers in the world to still build ribbon microphones. One of them is the legendary M 130. Unlike other ribbon microphones, this dynamic ribbon microphone features two small ribbons spaced 0.5 mm apart, resulting in an unusually smooth and balanced frequency response. Together with the almost perfect impulse response typical of ribbon microphones, the M 130 is a microphone characterized by exceptional discoloration and tonal neutrality. Unusual for a dynamic microphone is its over the entire transmission range constant eighth characteristic, in which even at lateral Einsprechwinkeln no sound changes occur. The M 130 is recommended for MS stereophony in conjunction with the M 160 dual-band microphone, for recording dialogues and for engaging the audience in the broadcast image of a stage event, as well as for decoupling percussion for the simultaneous acceptance of two adjacent instruments.
